Energy Conservation Program
How does energy management help education?
Utility bills are the second largest expense to any school district. In March 2009 Bonneville Joint School District No. 93 contracted the services of Energy Education to help the district create a comprehensive energy management plan that will save money, jobs and student programs as well as benefit the environment.
What is Energy Management?
Our conservation program encourages our staff members, teachers, custodians, administrators and ultimatly our students to become "Energy Smart Consumers" and to encourage good "energy saving" habits at school and at home. We are working with Energy Education to increase the awareness of energy conservation, curtail wasteful use and increase the efficiency of our buildings. We have also established a set of Policy & Guidelines for our staff to follow. Don Trauntvein was hired to be our Energy Education Specialist. Don is responsible for educating the staff on best conservation practices, implementing those conservation practices, tracking utility expenses and working with the maintenance and custodial departments to maintain a comfortable educational environment.
