Mountain Valley Elementary is the newest school in the Bonneville School District. We are proud to be the first elementary in the district to offer a curriculum emphasizing science and mathematics. Our mission is to provide an alternative instructional environment for the students and families of the Bonneville School District.
Our goals include:
- Teaching reading through a curriculum heavy in science and expository text.
- A focus on mathematics that extend beyond algorithm mastery to inquiry-based learning and problem solving.
- A commitment to learning models that incorporate the ideals and goals of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) within the instruction.
We are excited to work with the students of the 21st Century, and look forward to the many opportunities that lie ahead.
Mountain Valley is designed and functions as a neighborhood school. However, as a school offering an alternative curriculum, we are pleased to offer open enrollment to a number of students living outside our school boundaries. Applications were received beginning March 1st and have been processed. At this point we will continue to accept applicants for a waiting list.
